体重过重与肥胖影响到了发达国家的大部分成年人，并且在发展中国家中迅速增长，已经成为全球性流行病。我国肥胖发病率也正在急剧增长。据估计，目前我国约有三分之一的成年人体重过重, 其中肥胖患者接近1亿。本次科学文化沙龙有幸邀请到7位美国华人糖尿病协会的肥胖与代谢病研究专家从各自独特的角度为我们解析肥胖如何影响我们身体的糖耐受性，并最终导致糖尿病及相关并发症。专家们还会就代谢病研究今后的发展方向提出自己的见解。
